Exodus 7:17-"Thus saith the Lord," Thou shalt know that I am the Lord; behold, I have this rod in my hand I will wound the waters in the river, and become blood. " Here, God announces the first plague we will send over Egypt, transforming the waters of the Nile River into blood.

Exodus 7:22 - "Then the wizards of Egypt did the same with their enchantments; and the heart of Pharaoh hardened, and did not hear them, as the Lord had said."
