17. Then he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who slew their young men in their own sanctuary building, sparing neither young man nor maiden, neither the aged nor the decrepit; he delivered all of them over into his grip.
Chapter 36 of 2 Chronicles narrates the end of the kingdom of Judah and the fall of Jerusalem to Babylon, fulfilling God's prophecies about the punishment of the people for their disobedience. " This verse brings the hope of restoration and reconstruction of the temple of Jerusalem after exile in Babylon, fulfilling Jeremiah's prophecies and showing God's faithfulness to fulfill His promises.
