35. And his heart was weighed down, along with that of his servants, and it was hardened exceedingly. Neither did he release the sons of Israel, just as the Lord had instructed by the hand of Moses.

In Exodus 9, God continues to send pests about Egypt as a way of showing his power and forcing Pharaoh to free the people from Israel. Pests include the death of cattle, ulcers in animals and humans, hail and grasshops.
