Ezekiel, 13

19. And they violated me among my people, for the sake of a handful of barley and a fragment of bread, so that they would kill the souls that should not die, and enliven the souls that should not live, lying to my people who believe in falsehoods.

Verses related to Ezekiel, 13:

Ezekiel 13 talks about the false prophecy that are being preached in Israel and warns of the punishment that will come over the false prophets. The verses chosen in order of proximity to the theme of the chapter are:

Jeremiah 23:16: "Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Do not hear the words of the prophets who prophesy among you, teaching you vanities; they speak of the vision of their own heart, not the mouth of the Lord." This verse addresses the same theme as Ezekiel 13, warning people not to hear the false prophets who speak only of themselves, without the guidance of God.

Matthew 24:24: "For false Christs and false prophets will rise, and will make signs and wonders to deceive if possible, even the chosen ones." Jesus also warned of false prophets who would deceive people with miracles and signs, which is similar to what Ezekiel 13 describes.

John also advises people to test spirits and discern if they are of God, because there are many false prophets in the world who try to deceive people.

Matthew 7:15: "Beware of the false prophets, who are presented to you in disguise in sheep, but inside they are stole wolves." Jesus again warns of false prophets, which may seem harmless, but are dangerous and deceiving inside.
