2 Maccabees, 15

17. Encouraged by these beautiful words of Judas, which were able to encourage righteous people and strengthen young souls, they determined not to set up camp with defenses. They decided instead to rush out bravely and take the offensive to settle the matter by fighting bravely, for the Holy City Jerusalem, their religion and the Temple were in danger.

Verses related to 2 Maccabees, 15:

Chapter 15 of 2 Maccabees narrates the final battle between the Jews led by Judas Macabeu and the forces of the Antiochus. During battle, Judas and his men trust God to protect them and overcome war. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:

2 Samuel 22:33: "It is God who gives me with strength and makes my way perfect." Judas and his men trust God to give them the strength and guidance necessary to overcome the battle.

Psalm 18:2: "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my liberator." The Jews trust God as their rock and fortress, knowing that He will protect them and set them free.

Isaiah 41:10: "Do not fear, because I am with you; do not haunt yourself, because I am your God; I strengthen you, and help you, and I support you with my faithful right hand." God promises to be with Judas and his men during battle, strengthen them, help them, and support them with their right hand.

1 Corinthians 15:57: "But thank God who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Judas and his men recognize that victory is possible only through God, and thank him for giving them victory.

2 Timothy 4:7: "I fought the good fight, I finished my career, I kept the faith." Judas and his men bravely fight the final battle, trusting God to protect them and, in the end, can overcome the good fight.
