21. For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

St. Matthew 24 is known as the "Mount of Olives Speech", in which Jesus talks about the signs of the end times and his return. He describes the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem, wars, fames, earthquakes, persecution and the spread of the gospel all over the world. Mark 13:7: "But when you hear from wars and rumors of war, you are not scary; it is necessary to happen, but it is not yet the end." Jesus talks about the wars and conflicts that will occur before the end of time, but warns that they are not an immediate sign of the end.
