Chapter 13 of 1 Kings narrates the story of a prophet who is sent by God to rebuke King Jeroboam for his idolatry. The prophet performs a miracle before the king, but is deceived by an elderly man who is passed by a prophet and convinces him to disobey God's instructions. Psalm 119:105: "Lamp for my feet is your word, and light to my way." This verse highlights the importance of God's Word as a guide to the Christian life. The Prophet in 1 Kings 13 would have avoided death if he had faithfully followed God's instructions.
