Deuteronomy 4 is a chapter in which Moses exhorts the people of Israel to faithfully follow God's laws and commandments. He reinforces the importance of obeying God and not deviating his ways. Joshua 1:7 - "Only be strong and very brave to be careful to do according to all the law that my servant Moses ordered you; it does not deviate from it, neither to the right nor to the left, so that prudently leads to you for wherever you walk. " This verse encourages Israel to faithfully follow God's laws and commandments, a central theme in Deuteronomy 4.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5 - "Hear, Israel, the Lord our God is the only Lord. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and of all thy forces." Moses emphasizes the importance of loving God with all his heart and soul in Deuteronomy 4 and this verse is a classic expression of this commandment.
Deuteronomy 10:12-13 - "And now, Israel, that the Lord your God asks you, but who will have the Lord thy God, who Andes in all his ways, and the Ames, and the Lord thy God, With all your heart and all your soul, let the commandments of the Lord guard, and your statutes, which today I command you to your good? " This verse highlights the importance of fearing God, loving Him and following Him, as well as the importance of obeying His laws and statutes.
Deuteronomy 11:26-28 - "Behold, today I put before you the blessing and the curse: the blessing, when you fulfill the commandments of the Lord your God, which today I command you; but the curse, if you do not fulfill the commandments of the Lord if you do not fulfill the Lord Your God, but you deviate from the way that I command you today, to follow other gods you have not known. " This verse highlights the importance of choosing to obey God and follow his ways in order to receive blessings rather than curses. It is a warning that Moses makes Israel in Deuteronomy 4.
