Exodus, 7

15. Go to Pharaoh in the morning, as he is going out to the water; wait for him by the river's brink, and take in your hand the rod which was turned into a serpent.

Exodus 7:22 - "Then the wizards of Egypt did the same with their enchantments; and the heart of Pharaoh hardened, and did not hear them, as the Lord had said." Exodus 7:25 - "And seven days passed after the Lord wounded the river." This verse marks the end of the first plague, and shows how God's pests were progressively getting worse and lasting longer, intensifying the pressure on Pharaoh to release the Hebrews.
