5. And he said: Put a clean mitre upon his head: and they put a clean mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments, and the angel of the Lord stood.

Zechariah 3 reports the vision of a divine judgment in which the high priest Joshua is accused and then purified from his sins. The main theme of the chapter is justification before God, the removal of guilt and redemption. Five verses that address these themes are:

This verse talks about the purification that the blood of Christ brings to the conscience of believers, removing guilt and allowing them to serve God.

1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all injustice." This verse highlights the importance of God's confession and promise to forgive them and purify of injustice.
