Exodus 33 describes the continuation of Moses's relationship with God after the idolatry of the golden calf. Deuteronomy 31:8: "The Lord, for it is the one who goes before you; He will be with you, will not let you, nor will you forsaken you; Here we see God's promise to Joshua, successor of Moses, that his presence will go with him in the leadership of the people.
