4. From the desert and from Lebanon, even to the great river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, as far as the great sea opposite the setting of the sun, shall be your border.

Joshua chapter 1 marks the beginning of Joshua's leadership over the children of Israel after the death of Moses. Matthew 28:19-20: "Therefore, go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all the things I have sent you; And behold, I am with you every day, until the consummation of the centuries. " This verse highlights the importance of obeying God's orders and following his command, just as Joshua was commissioned by God to lead his people in conquering the promised land.
