23. Let two bulls be given us; let them choose one for themselves, dismember it but not set fire to it. I in my turn shall prepare the other bull, but not set fire to it.

1 Kings 18 narrates the confrontation between the prophet Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. Exodus 20:3: "You will not have other gods before me." This is the first commandment of God's law to Moses, and highlights the exclusivity and importance of worshiping only to God, not other gods.

1 Corinthians 8:6: "But for us, there is one God, the Father, whom they are all things, and to whom we live; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, for which they are all things, and we for he." This verse highlights God's unity, and how he is the Father of all things, and how all things were created through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
