Chapter 7 of Micah deals with the corruption of the people of Israel and the hope of redemption through the mercy of God. Micah calls for justice, pointing to the hypocrisy and dishonesty of those in positions of power. He then turns to God, trusting his goodness and promise of forgiveness and restoration. Jeremiah 31:34: "No one else will teach your neighbor, nor your brother, saying," Know the Lord, "because they will all know me from the smallest to the greatest," says the Lord. For I will forgive their wickedness and no longer remember their sins. "This verse speaks of God's promise to forgive and forget our sins, making us truly their people.

Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace you are saved, through faith; and this does not come from you, it is the gift of God. It does not come from the works, so that no one can glorious." This verse speaks of salvation by the grace of God, not for our own works or merits. This reminds us that redemption and forgiveness are gifts from God to his people, not something we can gain or deserve.
