Isaiah 34 describes God's judgment on nations, especially Edom, because of his rebellion against him. The chapter emphasizes the total destruction and the desolation that will come over these wicked nations as a result of divine justice. Naum 1:8: "With a flood that will pass, he will end her place; darkness will persecute her enemies." Naum prophesies the destruction of Nineveh, an wicked city that was judged by God because of his cruelty and sin.
