6. If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed [therewith]; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

Deuteronomy 24:6 - "Thou shalt not take the hand of hand or sunshine, because that would be to take the debtor's own life." This verse addresses the question of the pledge, mentioned in Exodus 22:26-27, and highlights the importance of protecting the life and subsistence means of the debtors.
