Revelation 8 describes the opening of the seventh seal and the beginning of the seven trumpets, which are divine judgments that bring destruction to the earth. Following are five Bible verses that relate to the topics addressed in Revelation 8:
Jeremiah 25:30-31: "I will therefore announce at high voices to all the peoples of the world:" The Lord comes to judge! He will judge all nations of the earth with justice, according to what they deserve. The Lord will send the sword, hunger, and plague against them until they have been exterminated from the face of the earth. "This verse speaks of God's judgment on all nations, which is similar to the judgments described in Revelation 8.
Isaiah 24:6-7: "Therefore, a curse devours the earth; its inhabitants suffer the consequences of their sins. Therefore, the earth is dry and withered; the plants are drying and withered, because the inhabitants of the earth are wicked, for they do not obey the laws of God, who are perfect and eternal. " This verse talks about how the sins of the inhabitants of the earth bring destruction to God's creation, which is also a theme in Revelation 8.
Ezekiel 33:3: "When he comes that the sword comes against the earth, he will touch the trumpet and warn the people." This verse talks about trumpet being used as a warning sign for the people, which is similar to the use of trumpets in Revelation 8 to announce God's judgments.
Joel 2:1-2: "Touch the trumpet in Zion, give the alarm in my holy mountain. They shake with fear, all the inhabitants of the earth, because the day of the Lord is coming! It is near, it is a day of darkness and of Darkness, a day of clouds and darkness, as there has never been before there will be no later, in generations and generations. " This verse also talks about using the trumpet as a warning sign for God's judgment, which is a theme in Revelation 8.
Amos 5:18-20: "Woe to those who desire the day of the Lord! What benefit will be for you on that day? It will be a day of darkness, not of light. It will be as if someone fled from a lion and met with a bear, or as if they got into the house and leaning a hand on the wall, and one snakes it bite. The day of the Lord will be dark and not light, a day of dense clouds and darkness. " This verse describes the day of God's judgment as a day of darkness and destruction, which is similar to what is described in Revelation 8.
