17. Now in my vision this is how I saw the horses and their riders. They wore red, blue, and yellow breastplates, and the horses' heads were like heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke, and sulfur.

Revelation 9 describes the opening of the fifth and sixth seals, which results in the release of terrible pests on the earth. Joel 2:4-5: "Your appearance is like that of horses; and how knights like this. Isaiah 13:10: "For the stars of heaven and their constellations shall not give their light; the sun shall be dark at birth, and the moon will not shine with its light." This verse describes the darkness that will cover the earth during the end of time, similar to what is described in the sixth seal of Revelation 9.
