Joshua, 1

9. It is I who command you; be strong, then, and be valiant. Do not tremble or be afraid, because Yahweh, your God, is with you wherever you go."

Joshua chapter 1 marks the beginning of Joshua's leadership over the children of Israel after the death of Moses. God commissiones Joshua to lead the people in conquering the promised land, and encourages them to be strong and brave. Joshua then transmits these words to the people, who promises to obey and follow Joshua as leader.

1 Samuel 18:14: "And David thrived in all his ways, for the Lord was with him." Just as God was with Joshua, he was also with David on his mission. This verse highlights the importance of God's presence and support in our lives.
