1 Kings 18 narrates the confrontation between the prophet Elijah and the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. Elijah challenges Baal's prophets to make a sacrifice to their God and to invoke him to light the fire of sacrifice. Baal's prophets try, but to no avail. Then Elijah makes a sacrifice to God and asks him to light the fire, which happens. After that, Elijah kills the prophets of Baal. This verse highlights God's unity, and how he is the Father of all things, and how all things were created through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
