Chapter 13 of numbers narrates sending the twelve spies to the land of Canaan in order to explore it before the invasion. The verses selected below are related to topics such as faith, courage, disobedience, confidence in God and His promises.

Deuteronomy 1:21: "See, the Lord, his God, he gave him the earth. Go up and take possession of it, like the Lord, the God of his ancestors, promised him. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." In this verse, Moses encourages the people of Israel to trust God's promises and have the courage to take possession of the land that was promised to them.

Deuteronomy 1:26: "But you refused to rise; you rebelled against the order of the Lord, your God." This verse shows the disobedience of the people of Israel, who refused to trust God and to take possession of the land of Canaan.

Joshua 1:9: "Did I not have ordered you? Be strong and brave! Do not terminate, nor be discouraged, for the Lord, your God, will be with you where you walk." Joshua 14:12: "Now give me this mountainous region that the Lord promised me that day.
