Acts of the Apostles 2 describes the day of Pentecost, when Jesus' disciples received the Holy Spirit and began to speak of strange languages, attracting a multitude that was amazed. Peter then preached a powerful sermon, explaining that what was happening was the realization of the prophet of the prophet Joel over the last days. Joel 2:28-29: "And after that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all peoples. Your children and their daughters will prophesy, the old will have dreams, young people will have visions. Acts of the Apostles 4:31: "After they prayed, the place where they were gathered were treated; they were full of the Holy Spirit and boldly announced the Word of God." This verse describes another moment when the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak boldly about Jesus.

Ephesians 5:18: "Do not be drunk with wine, which leads to liberation, but let themselves be filled with the Spirit." Here Paul is encouraging Christians to be filled with the Holy Spirit rather than seeking satisfaction in worldly things.
