33. At the sight of her tears, and those of the Jews who had come with her, Jesus was greatly distressed, and with a profound sigh he said,

"Jesus cried. The Jews then said, see how he loved Him." (John 11:35-36) This verse shows the humanity of Jesus, who shakes himself from the pain of his friends for the loss of Lazarus. Her cry also highlights the reality of death and her sadness before her.

"And many of the Jews who had come to Mary and, seeing what Jesus had done, believed in him." (John 11:45) The chapter ends with the result of Lazarus's resurrection, which leads many to believe in Jesus.
