Nehemiah 7 reports the organization of the people after the reconstruction of the walls of Jerusalem. Nehemiah 7:3: "And I said unto them, Do not open the doors of Jerusalem until the sun is hot, and while the porters are still there, lock the doors and lock them while they are still in Guard.
