Chapter 3 of 1 Thessalonians describes how Paul sent Timothy to know the news of the The Church in Thessalonica and to encourage them in their faith. Timothy comes back with good news about the firmness of the faith of the Thessalonians, which brings great comfort to Paul. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4: "Praise the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Mercies, and God of all consolation, who comforts us in all our tribulations, that with the consolation we receive from God, we can comfort those who are going through tribulations.
