6. And in the sight of the throne was, as it were, a sea of glass like to crystal; and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four living creatures, full of eyes before and behind.

Like the appearance of a rainbow that appears in the middle of the rain, so it was the brightness around it. It was the appearance of the glory of the Lord. " The book of Ezekiel also presents a view of the heavenly throne of God, and the description resembles the description of Revelation 4.

Psalm 29:2: "Give the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness." This verse of psalms is a call to worship of God, which is a central theme in Revelation 4, where living beings and elders worship the Lord before His throne.
