Chapter 10 of 2 Chronicles narrates the story of how King Roban, Son of Solomon, became the king of Judah after his father's death. He is confronted by Jeroboam, leader of the Kingdom of Israel of the Northern, who asks Robano to reduce the tax burden imposed on the people. Revus refuses to do so, which leads to the division of the kingdom of Israel into two parts. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in 2 chronicles 10.
1 Kings 12:15: "Then the king did not hear the people; for this change came from the Lord, that the word that the Lord had spoken through Aeas, the Silonite, Jeroboam, son of Naters." This verse talks about how the division of the kingdom of Israel was prophesied by God. Galatians 5:14: "For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." This verse emphasizes the importance of love and empathy in dealing with other people. If Roban had loved his people and considered his needs, he could have avoided the division of the kingdom of Israel.
