20. Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against your little pillows, with which you catch flying souls. And I will tear them away from your arms. And I will release the souls that you are capturing, the souls that should fly.

Ezekiel 13 talks about the false prophecy that are being preached in Israel and warns of the punishment that will come over the false prophets. The verses chosen in order of proximity to the theme of the chapter are:

Jeremiah 23:16: "Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Do not hear the words of the prophets who prophesy among you, teaching you vanities; they speak of the vision of their own heart, not the mouth of the Lord." This verse addresses the same theme as Ezekiel 13, warning people not to hear the false prophets who speak only of themselves, without the guidance of God.

Matthew 24:24: "For false Christs and false prophets will rise, and will make signs and wonders to deceive if possible, even the chosen ones." Jesus also warned of false prophets who would deceive people with miracles and signs, which is similar to what Ezekiel 13 describes.

2 Peter 2:1: "Just as, among the people, false prophets have emerged, so there will be false teachers among you, which will introduce, disguising, destructive heresies, to the point of renegade the sovereign Lord who rescued them, bringing upon themselves sudden destruction. Matthew 7:15: "Beware of the false prophets, who are presented to you in disguise in sheep, but inside they are stole wolves." Jesus again warns of false prophets, which may seem harmless, but are dangerous and deceiving inside.
