2. “Question the Lord on our behalf, for Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, is fighting against us. Perhaps it may be that the Lord will act toward us according to all his wonders, and he may withdraw from us.”

Jeremiah 21 presents a message from God to the king of Judah, Zedekiah, about the judgment that was about to happen over the people of Judah. Jeremiah 22:3: "Thus says the Lord, Practice justice and right. Deliver the oppressed from the oppressor's hand. Do not oppress the foreigner, the orphan or the widow. Do not pour out innocent blood in this place." God instructs the people of Judah to practice justice and law, freeing the oppressed and avoiding oppression, and does not pour out innocent blood.

Ezekiel 33:11: "I swear for my life, word of the sovereign, the Lord, who I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but in which they move away from their ways and live. Return from their bad ways! Why Would you die, O nation of Israel? " God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but wants them to repent and return to him.

Psalm 91:15: "He shall invoke me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in anguish, free him and glorify him." God promises to be present with his children during his anguish, freeing them and glorifying them.

John 16:33: "I told you these things that you may have peace in me. In this world you will have afflictions; however, have the mood! I have won the world." Jesus warns his disciples that in this world they would have afflictions, but that he had won them, bringing peace and hope.
