18. And whoever flees from the cry of fear will fall into the pit, and whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in the snare. Yes, the sluice-gates above are open, the foundations of the earth are quaking.

Matthew 24:21 - "For there will then be great affliction, as has never been since the beginning of the world so far, nor will there be." This verse talks about the coming judgment that God will bring about the earth, which will be a time of great distress.

Jeremiah 25:31 - "The crash shall come to the end of the earth, for the Lord has to strive with the nations, will enter into judgment with all the flesh; the wicked shall surrender to the sword, says the Lord." " This verse talks about the glory that God will receive when bringing judgment on the earth and punishing the wicked.

Isaiah 26:21 - "For behold, the Lord will leave his place to punish the residents of the earth because of his iniquity; and the earth will discover his blood, and will no longer cover his dead." This verse talks about how God will come out of his place to punish the residents of the earth because of his iniquity.
