12. They went up and camped at Kiriath-Jearim in Judah; and for this reason the place is still called the Camp of Dan today. It lies to the west of Kiriath-Jearim.

2 Samuel 7:10: "And I will prepare a place for my people, for Israel, and plant it, that it may dwell in its place, and never be removed, nor the children of wickedness afflicted him more, as before." Dan's desire for a new home in judges 18 is similar to God's desire to find a permanent place for his people, where they can live in peace and prosperity.
