22. If I will say to the boy, ‘Behold, the arrows are before you, take them up,’ you shall approach before me, because there is peace for you, and there is nothing evil, as the Lord lives. Chapter 20 of 1 Samuel narrates the continuation of the relationship between David and Jonathan, son of King Saul. In this chapter, Jonathan pledges to help David escape his father's wrath and they make a friendship pact.
