Jeremiah 36 narrates the time when the Lord commanded Jeremiah to write all the words He had spoken against Israel and Judah in a roll and read it aloud to the people in the temple. The roll was read to King Jehoaquim, but he did not regret his ways. The verses related to the topics addressed in Jeremiah 36 are as follows:
Psalm 119:11: "I keep your words in the heart, not to sin against you." The people of Judah needed to keep God's words in their hearts not to sin against Him.
Proverbs 29:1: "The man who, once rebuked, harden the cervix will be broken suddenly, without healing." King Jehokim was rebuked by the words of the roll, but he hardened his heart and was broken.
Hebrews 4:12: "For the Word of God is alive and effective, and more sharply than any two -edged sword, and penetrates to the division of soul and spirit, and from joints and marrows, and is able to discern thoughts, and heart intentions. " The roll with the words of God was powerful and able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the hearts of the people.
John 8:32: "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." The people needed to know the truth of God's words to be released.
1 Peter 1:25: "But the word of the Lord remains forever. And this is the word that was evangelized among you." God's words are eternal and remain forever, and must be proclaimed to all.
