2 Peter, 3

18. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and unto the day of eternity. Amen.

Verses related to 2 Peter, 3:

Chapter 3 of 2 Peter deals with the return of Jesus Christ and the destruction of the world by fire. Peter urges Christians to live godly and eagerly await the return of Christ. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in the chapter:

Matthew 24:36: "But about that day and time no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." This verse talks about the uncertainty of the date of Christ's return, which corroborates Peter's teaching in 2 Peter 3:10 about the coming of the Lord "as a thief."

Hebrews 10:27: "But a terrible expectation of judgment and a burning fire that will devour the opponents." The author of Hebrews talks about the punishment of the wicked on the day of judgment, a theme that is also addressed by Peter in 2 Peter 3:7.

James 5:7-8: "He thirsts, brothers, patients until the coming of the Lord. Revelation 21:1: "I saw a new sky and new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth have passed, and the sea no longer exists." John talks about the new creation God will make after the destruction of the world for fire, a theme that is mentioned by Peter in 2 Peter 3:13.
