9. But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name [was] Oded: and he went out before the host that came to Samaria, and said unto them, Behold, because the LORD God of your fathers was wroth with Judah, he hath delivered them into your hand, and ye have slain them in a rage [that] reacheth up unto heaven.

This verse talks about how Ahaz was afraid when he learned that Syria and Ephraim had made a covenant against him. This led him to seek help from the Assyrians instead of trusting God.

Jeremiah 2:19: "Your wickedness shall punish you, and your apostasies will rebuke you; you know, and see, that evil and how bitter you are to the Lord, your God, and you do not have in you my fear, says Lord God of hosts. " This verse talks about how evil and apostasy have bitter consequences. Ahaz reaped the fruits of his disobedience and lack of fear to the Lord.

Hosea 8:7: "For they have sown winds, and will searches storm; This verse talks about how those who plant seeds of evil will harvest the storm. Ahaz planted seeds of idolatry and alliances with pagan nations, and this resulted in torment to his people.
