Jeremiah, 26

3. If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.

Jeremiah chapter deals with the prophet's prophecy about the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem, and how religious and politicians reacted to this message. Acts 5:27-29-"And, bringing them, they introduced them to the Council. And the high priest has questioned them, saying, We do not expressly send you that you would not teach in that name? And behold, you have filled with your doctrine, and want upon us the blood of this man. " This verse shows how the religious leaders of the New Testament also pursue those who preached the message of God, as well as the leaders of Jerusalem in the time of Jeremiah.
