Luke, 1

42. And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed [art] thou among women, and blessed [is] the fruit of thy womb.

St. Luke 1 describes the conception and birth of John the Baptist and Jesus, as well as reporting the encounter between Mary and Isabel, and the song of the magnificent of Mary. Genesis 18:14: "Is there a thing too difficult for the Lord? In the determined time, I will return to you, and Sarah will have a son." This verse presents an example of God's faithfulness to fulfill his promises, even if they seem impossible.

Isaiah 40:3: "A voice cries out: In the desert prepare the way of the Lord; in the arid earth open a road to our God." This verse prophesies the coming of John the Baptist, who would prepare the way for Jesus.

Micah 5:2: "But you, Bethlehem-Frata, although too small to appear as a group of thousands of Judah, will come out what will reign in Israel, and whose origins have been since ancient times, since the days of eternity." This verse prophesies the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.

1 Samuel 1:11: "And made a vow, saying, Lord of hosts! Malachi 4:5: "Behold, I will send you the prophet Elijah, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes." This verse is quoted by Jesus in talking about John the Baptist in Matthew 17:10-13, showing how the Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled with the birth of John and Jesus.
