7. After much debate had taken place, Peter got up and said to them, "My brothers, you are well aware that from early days God made his choice among you that through my mouth the Gentiles would hear the word of the gospel and believe.

Acts of the Apostles 15:28-29: "For it seemed well on the Holy Spirit, and we no longer impose you anymore, but these necessary things: May you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and the suffocated flesh, and, and of prostitution, of which things you do well if you keep you. " This verse is part of the decision made by the apostles and elders regarding the issue of circumcision and what other requirements the converted Gentiles needed to follow.
