3. Across the twenty cubits of the inner court and the pavement of the outer court, there were three parallel rows of them on different levels.

1 Kings 6:5: "And against the wall of the house, which was inside, built floors around the walls of the house, around the temple and the sanctuary; and made cameras around." " This verse is important because it establishes the purpose of the temple described in Ezekiel, as the place where God will dwell among the children of Israel forever.

Hebrews 9:24: "For Christ has not entered a sanctuary made by hands, figure of the real, but in the same heaven, to now appear for us before the face of God;" This verse points to the difference between the physical temple described in Ezekiel 42 and the true heavenly sanctuary that Christ entered, and highlights the importance of the relationship of the physical temple to spiritual reality.
