In Jeremiah 42, the remnant of Judah, led by Joanan, consults Jeremiah to find out whether or not to go to Egypt in search of security. Jeremiah 7:3: "Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: improve their ways and actions, and I will make them dwell in this place." This verse shows God's message to the people of Judah, encouraging them to repent and improve their actions so that they can remain in their land.

Jeremiah 26:13: "Now change their lives and conduct, and obey the voice of the Lord, His God, that He may repent of the evil he has announced against you." This verse shows how Jeremiah urges the people to repent and change their lives to avoid divine punishment.

Jeremiah 37:17: "Then King Zedekiah had he sought him and questioned him in particular in his palace, asking, Is there any word of the Lord?" This verse shows how Zedekiah seeks God's Word through Jeremiah.
