54. When our perishable being puts on imperishable life, when our mortal being puts on immortality, the word of Scripture will be fulfilled: Death has been swallowed up by victory.

1 Corinthians 15 deals mainly on the resurrection of the dead and the victory over death through the resurrection of Christ. The following verses are related to this theme:

" This verse speaks of the resurrection of the dead in Christ, preceding the rapture of the faithful to be with the Lord forever.

Revelation 21:4: "He shall wipe all tear from his eyes, and there will be no death, no weeping, no cry, no pain, because the first things are passed." This verse talks about eternal life in which there will be no more death, sadness or pain, but the joy and peace that derive from the victory over the death achieved by the resurrection of Christ.
