3. The ancients also of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David to be king over Israel.

Government and peace there will be no end on the throne of David and on his kingdom, to firm and fortify him with judgment and justice, from now on and forever. " This verse is a prophecy about the Messiah that would come from the lineage of David.
