Chapter 8 of 2 Kings tells the story of Hazael, a man who would eventually become king of Syria, and his interaction with the prophet Elisha and King Jehora of Israel. 2 Kings 10:32: "In those days, the Lord began to reduce the territory of Israel. Hazael defeated the Israelites throughout the east of Jordan." This verse talks about Hazael's actions, which is presented in 2 Kings 8 as a future king of Syria and that causes destruction in Israel, fulfilling Elisha's prophecy.
