Jeremiah 41 describes the murder of Gedaliah, the governor appointed by the Babylonians to govern the remnant of Judah after the fall of Jerusalem. This verse is spoken by Jeremiah to the Jews who wanted to escape to Egypt after the murder of Gedaliah. He relates to Jeremiah 41 because both chapters talk about the fear of the people and their attempts to protect themselves.
2 Kings 25:23: "But when all the army captains and their men heard that the king of Babylon had named Gedaliah by governor, gedaliah came to Mizpá; but Ishmael, son of Netanias, and Joan , son of Careá, and Seraías, son of Tanumette, of Netofa, and Jaazanias, son of the Maacatite, they and their men. " This verse relates to Jeremiah 41, as it describes some of the characters that appear in both chapters: Ishmael and Joan.
