7. In all my travels with all the Israelites, did I say to any of the judges of Israel, whom I had commanded to shepherd my people Israel: Why do you not build me a cedar-wood temple?"

2 Samuel 7 narrates an important dialogue between God and King David, in which God promises David a lasting offspring and an eternal kingdom. He will extend the His domain, and there will be endless peace over the throne of David and his kingdom, which he will establish and keep with justice and righteousness from now and forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do it. " This prophetic passage refers to God's promise to David from eternal descent and a righteous kingdom.

Acts 2:29-31: "Brothers, be allowed to tell you with frankness that patriarch David died and was buried, and his grave is among us to this day. Being a prophet, he knew that God had Promised with an oath that one of his descendants would settle on his throne. Predicting this, David spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that he was not abandoned in Hades, nor did his body experience corruption. " Peter quotes David to demonstrate that Jesus' resurrection is evidence of God's faithfulness to the promise of eternal descent to David.
