4. And command the people, You are about to pass through the territory of your brethren the sons of Esau, who live in Se'ir; and they will be afraid of you. So take good heed;

Deuteronomy 2:30 - "And Seom, king of Hesbom, did not want us to go through his earth; for the Lord thy God has hardened His Spirit, and made his heart stubborn, to deliver into thy hand, as he sees today. " This verse highlights the belief that God was controlling the fate of the Israelites and that his enemies were being delivered into his hands by divine will.
