4. But the Lord sent a great wind into the sea. And a great tempest took place in the sea, and the ship was in danger of being crushed.

Jonas 1 tells the story of God's call to Jonas to preach in Nineveh, but instead of obeying, Jonas tries to escape and ends up being thrown into the sea during a storm. Here are five verses related to the topics covered in Jonah 1:

Proverbs 21:30: "There is no wisdom, no intelligence, no advice against the Lord." The chapter of Jonas 1 clearly illustrates the uselessness of trying to escape the call of God.
