33. He pursued them from the city of Aroer to the entrance of Minnith and Abel Keramim, seizing twenty towns. So he defeated the Ammonites.

Chapter 11 of the Judges Book tells the story of Jephtha, a brave warrior who was chosen as leader of his people in a time of conflict and oppression. Jephtter makes a vow to the Lord, promising that if he overcomes the battle against the Ammonites, he will sacrifice the first person who leaves his home to find him.
