Judges, 11

27. Therefore I do not trespass against thee, but thou wrongest me by declaring an unjust war against me. The Lord be judge and decide this day between Israel and the children of Ammon.

Chapter 11 of the Judges Book tells the story of Jephtha, a brave warrior who was chosen as leader of his people in a time of conflict and oppression. Jephtter makes a vow to the Lord, promising that if he overcomes the battle against the Ammonites, he will sacrifice the first person who leaves his home to find him. Unfortunately, this person ends up being his own daughter, and Jephtter finds himself facing a terrible choice.

2 Corinthians 5:7: "For we live by faith, and not for what we see." This verse talks about the importance of faith in God, even when things do not seem to make sense or are difficult to understand, as was the case with Jephthah in their difficult situation.
