13. And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where [be] all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

1 Samuel 17:45: "David said to the Philistine, 'You come against me with a sword, spear and dart, but I go against you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the hosts of Israel, whom you challenged. '"This verse speaks of the importance of trusting God in times of difficulty. David trusted God to defeat Goliath, and Gideon also trusted God to lead the Israelites against the Midianites. Both men believed that God was with them and could do great things through Him.
